Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has spoken on Marko Grujic’s agent’s attempts to extract more money from a loan deal for the Serbian by exploring other options in the market.
With Fabinho and Naby Keïta now Liverpool players, spots in the midfield have become even harder to come by and there are a couple players that will be concerned about their game time this season.
If Nabil Fekir joins the club as well, it will mean that even captain Jordan Henderson will need to tread lightly if he is to start every week.
What this means for the likes of Marko Grujic is decreased chances of appearing for the Reds – even in the early stages of domestic cup competitions. The Serbian is close to a move to Cardiff but his agent is stalling.
Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock has revealed that they will not wait around forever, saying: “No updates (on Grujic), not really.
“I think his agent – as they do – thinks he can try and make more money somewhere else but Liverpool want him to come and I think it’ll be good for him.
“We’ll have to see how it develops. But we won’t wait forever.”
Grujic will leave on loan this summer and Cardiff is the club best-suited to offering him regular game time in the Premier League. I hope that a deal can be agreed soon to ensure the midfielder doesn’t miss out on a chance to play regularly at the highest level in England.
