Xherdan Shaqiri will complete a medical at Melwood on Friday as the Switzerland attacker nears a £13.5 million move to Liverpool from Stoke City.
While supporters might be upset with the way the goalkeeping situation is being handled after Loris Karius’ latest blunder, the same fans are excited to see a new player come through the Melwood gates.
And on Friday, it looks as though Shaqiri will be arriving for a medical before completing a £13.5 million switch to Anfield from Stoke City. The 26-year-old has a relegation release clause in his contract which has been activated.
Jürgen Klopp is signing the former Bayern Munich winger as cover for Sadio Mané and Mo Salah as the Champions League final painfully exposed how little depth the Reds have up front.

A deal for Nabil Fekir is still a while away from being completed although French journalist Löic Tanzi has claimed that talks will resume after Jean-Michel Aulas made a promise to his skipper that he will continue negotiations with Liverpool.
That said, sporting director Michael Edwards won’t return to talks with Lyon if they are won’t budge from the previously agreed £53 million deal. He will insist that a restructuring of the deal take place for any deal to be completed.
Shaqiri will become the club’s third signing of the summer and will see Liverpool’s spending for this window exceed £100 million after Fabinho and Naby Keïta officially joined on the 1st of July.
