Some fans on Twitter have urged Liverpool to focus all their attention on signing a new goalkeeper as their top priority, with the likes of Nabil Fekir less important.
The Champions League final against Real Madrid last season was a nightmare and the way things went down left a bad taste in the mouth. Mohamed Salah’s injury was unlucky and unavoidable but Loris Karius really let his teammates down.
Concussion or not, the German was poor and the fact that he made a similar mistake to the error for Gareth Bale’s second goal in Kiev in the second game of pre-season really highlights the lack of quality on his part and hasn’t put fans at ease following the cup final defeat.
Worse yet, it seems unlikely that Jurgen Klopp will be making a move for a new goalkeeper this summer despite the wishes of supporters on social media.
Forget every outfield player we’re linked with.
Please just sign a goalkeeper, we’re begging you @LFC

Liverpool could sign Fekir, Dybala and Maguire and it would still be a poor window if Karius is still our number 1. #lfc

Simply put, Liverpool cannot go into the new season with Karius as the no.1 and seriously expect to win silverware. The German’s display in Kiev backs this up and hopefully after his most recent mistake, Klopp has taken note and will act accordingly.
