Yerry Mina responds to Liverpool transfer speculation

Yerry Mina has spoken out after the Colombian centre-back was linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days.

While Virgil van Dijk made a huge difference at the back last season after arriving for £75 million from Southampton in January, the Dutchman isn’t the only addition needed.

A goalkeeper is being targeted after Loris Karius’ Champions League final nightmare in Kiev and a new centre-back is also on the cards – but whether Jürgen Klopp wants to add a starter or a backup is unclear.

Dejan Lovren was impressive last term and has been in fine form for Croatia during the World Cup but yet links to Barcelona’s Yerry Mina have surfaced.

Mina has been superb for Colombia in Russia but the 23-year-old has put to bed claims that he could swap Catalonia for Merseyside this summer.

“My dream is to make history with Barcelona; the best club in the world for me,” he told reporters.

“That’s why I try to do things right. I hope to have the confidence of the coach and if not I will continue working.”

Would you rather Dejan Lovren continued as a starter next season or would you prefer to see a new central defender arrive at Liverpool this summer?
