Chelsea scout Piet de Visser has warned Liverpool against signing Hakim Ziyech as he isn’t ready for a move to a big club.
As is the case every season, the Reds have been linked with a whole host of names in every position imaginable.
After a deal for Fekir fell through earlier this month, the number of influential playmakers linked with a move to Liverpool has increased tenfold.
One who has caught the eye of many on social media with his exciting displays at the World Cup is Ajax Amsterdam’s Hakim Ziyech – but Liverpool have been warned against a move for the Moroccan.
Blessed with pace, fantastic dribbling ability and a keen eye for a pass, Ziyech is a superb attacking midfielder and provided 18 assists in the Eredivisie last season but Chelsea scout Piet De Visser is not of the view he is ready to make the step up to a big club this summer.
“He is a good footballer, but not for the top,” De Visser told Voetbal International.
“Certainly not in England. He needs far too much time.”
De Visser definitely knows what he is talking about given that he unearthed talents such as Romario and Ronaldo as well as Neymar and Kevin De Bruyne.
While there have yet to be concrete reports linking Jürgen Klopp with the 25-year-old, he has been mentioned as someone of interest ever since Philippe Coutinho took his leave to join Barcelona in January.
Meanwhile, Moroccan teammate and former Roma centre-half Medhi Benatia has urged Ziyech to join the Champions League semi-finalists.
Benatia said: “I hope he joins Roma. I know that Roma are considering Ziyech. He is a great player with incredible quality.
“I told him that Roma is a special club where he can do well, their fans are great and very passionate.”
