AS Roma president James Pallotta has announced that the highly sought after Alisson Becker can be bought for around £70m.
There is currently some confusion as to the stance that Liverpool have taken on Roma’s top goalkeeper Alisson.
Some reports have indicated that the Reds have pulled out of the race to sign the Brazilian due to the enormous price tag that has been mooted in the press over the last few weeks.
Others, however, claim that with Real Madrid being deterred by Roma’s huge asking price, that Liverpool have been encouraged and will submit a second bid that is closer to the Calcio A outfit’s valuation.
Today, Roma president James Pallotta has said that Alisson has a very high market value, potentially in a bid to ward off interest from clubs sniffing around.
Calcio Mercato report that Pallotta said: “Alisson has a high market value, around €78m.”
Given that the shot-stopper would make a massive difference at the back, similar to that which Virgil van Dijk did when he arrived and he cost £75m, would it not be worth splashing on a very, very good player?
