Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of AS Roma’s Alisson Becker, with the Italian side apparently prepared to sell the Brazilian at the right price.
Today, Alisson hinted that he is closing in on a summer move as he said that he wants his future sorted out before the World Cup and that his agents are looking to push through a move this week.
He said: “I think everything will be resolved before the start of the World Cup, that’s what I want.
“The truth is that I left everything in the hands of my agent. If everything is not resolved, it will be discussed after the World Cup.
“Right now, I’m focused only on the World Cup. There are some possibilities and we are working on all of them, together with Roma, always respecting the club.
“We’ll see if anything happens this week.”
According to Italian outlet Il Tempo – via Sport Witness – Alisson will not be sold this summer unless Roma are paid the right fee. So, in actuality, they are prepared to depart with their goalkeeper.
Like any player in the world, Alisson can be bought if a club is prepared to pay what his club is asking for.
Il Tempo claim that Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea are in talks with Alisson’s agent, with the Reds in “pole position” to sign the Brazil no.1
Although Liverpool have seemingly ended all interest in Nabil Fekir, Alisson is the player that would improve this side more and signing him is a priority whereas the Frenchman is more of a luxury player.
We will see how the next week pans out and whether or not Alisson inches closer to a move to Merseyside.
