Liverpool will be boosted in their pursuit of Alisson today, with Portuguese press claiming that Real Madrid are prepared to pay Jan Oblak’s release clause.
By now, any Liverpool fan with an internet connection will be well aware that the Reds are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.
This comes after Loris Karius made two errors that lead to goals in the Champions League final. The German was reinstated as Liverpool no.1 after an error in the 2016/17 season away to Bournemouth saw him lost his spot to Simon Mignolet.
However, after the Belgian lost Jürgen Klopp’s confidence in January, Karius found himself starting every game.
Portuguese news outlet A Bola have good news for those Liverpool fans that are desperate to see Alisson join the club from AS Roma this summer.

Jan Oblak, comfortably the second best goalkeeper in Europe during the 2017/18 season, has an £80 million release clause in his contract and Real Madrid are prepared to pay it if their new manager wants the Slovenian.
Zinedine Zidane surprisingly resigned from Madrid a few days after winning his third successive Champions League title.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in Oblak but Real Madrid’s obvious financial superiority means that if it comes down to a bidding war, Liverpool will probably lose.
However, Alisson is still a major target for the Reds and if Madrid move on to sign Oblak, it will leave very little competition to sign the shot-stopper.
Of course, as per the report, it all depends on the La Liga outfit’s new manager and who he wants in net.
