AS Roma Director of Football Monchi has said that the Italian side is yet to reach an agreement with any side for the sale of Alisson Becker.
It is unsurprising that Liverpool are linked with goalies even more than they already were after Loris Karius’ poor display in the Champions League final.
The Reds have been rumoured as being interested in AS Roma’s Alisson for a few months now, with the 6 foot 3 goalkeeper identified as being a player that can seriously improve Jürgen Klopp’s backline.
Alongside Jan Oblak, Alisson is one of the best ‘keepers in Europe and is also on Real Madrid’s radar.
Since Sunday, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Alisson so much that Roma’s Director of Football has actually publicly denied any sort of agreement with the Reds, quashing suggestions he might be close to a move.
Monchi said at an awards evening: “In order for a player to leave, there have to be three elements in place – an offer, a yes from the club and from the player. As of today, we have nothing of the sort.
“We are happy to keep him, transfer rumours are normal at this stage.”
The Brazil international kept 22 clean sheets in the 2017/18 season, making 47 saves in the Champions League on their way to the semi-finals where they lost to Liverpool.
With his contract running until 2021, Alisson is committed to Roma for the next three years.
