Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has fuelled speculation that the Poland international will leave Bayern Munich this summer with comments he has made to the German press.
This season, Roberto Firmino enjoyed his best season in terms of scoring and assisting, with 27 goals and 17 assists in all competitions.
His efforts earned himself a place in Brazil’s squad for the FIFA World Cup and although Gabriel Jesus is expected to start ahead of Firmino under Tite in Brazil, the Liverpool forward will be important for the Seleção.
However, with rumours that Robert Lewandowski is on his way out at Bayern, could Jürgen Klopp make an extraordinary move for the number nine?
Lewandowski scored 41 goals and created five in all comps for Bayern but the Poland international is unsettled in Bavaria and could make a move elsewhere this summer.
Pini Zahavi – the agent that engineered Neymar’s move to PSG – has recently been hired by Bayern’s star forward, leading some to suggest he is looking to switch clubs.
Speaking to Sport Bild, Zahavi all but confirmed that the former Borussia Dortmund striker will be on the move soon by saying: “Robert feels he needs a change and a new challenge in his career. The managers of Bayern know about it.”
According to Transfermarkt, Lewandowski is valued at around €90 million and with three years left on his contract, Bayern will be desperate to hold onto the forward.
Speaking in early May, Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “They do not have to worry about Robert Lewandowski and the relationship with Bayern. We have a very good one.
“We know what we have in Robert Lewandowski. I am very happy that we still have such a long-term contract. [There’s] no need to worry – he will also play next season at Bayern Munich.”
