Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mohamed Salah, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan missed training due to illness but will hopefully be back fit today.
Liverpool travel to Wales to play Swansea City in the Premier League on Monday and Klopp will be hoping a few of his first-team players are fit to face the relegation stragglers as they look to get back to full health.
Fans on social media panicked on Thursday when training photos published by the club didn’t include Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has been stunning form this season, scoring 18 goals and assisting a further 6 for teammates.
Klopp has told Liverpool’s official website, however, that the former Roma forward should be back in training after missing out yesterday.
Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “Virgil was back yesterday and completely fine. We have a few problems with players feeling ill or unwell.
“Raggy was out, but hopefully back today. Dejan was out. Mo Salah was out, but hopefully back today.
“Mo and Raggy are on the good side of it already, but with Dejan, we are not 100 percent sure [if he will be back today].”
Salah is crucial to this Liverpool team at the moment and probably ranks as the second most important player at the club behind Roberto Firmino.
The pair has scored 28 Premier League goals combined and assisted 11 together as they look to help the Reds leapfrog Manchester United into second place.
Firmino is just 10 goals away from becoming the league’s most prolific Brazilian in history, with Philippe Coutinho ahead of him on 41. With a strong finish to the season, the former Hoffenheim midfielder could see himself grab the accolade this term.
