Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has urged his club to move for Emre Can whose contract runs out this summer, saying he feels he would make a great signing.
Liverpool could see Emre Can leave the club in the summer and not receive a penny for their troubles. The German has not signed a contract extension and is free this month to talk to other clubs about arranging a free transfer for the summer.
Although it’s not been through a lack of trying, Can has not signed a new deal and leaves the Reds in a sticky situation if he leaves. He has rejected all contract extensions and it looks as though Juventus have caught his eye.
Sami Khedira is seemingly keen on the idea of having his international teammate link up with him in Italy as the German midfielder has revealed.
“I know him well,” Khedira said. “He’s young, strong and very talented. Given his age, he’s still got some learning and growing to do. So if there were the possibility of Juventus to sign him, I would take this opportunity in a flash.
“He’s out of contract in the summer, so if I were a director, yes, I would sign him immediately.”
Although there are some fans who, bizarrely, don’t rate Can, the German will definitely be a top, top player in years to come as he has the full skill set that you would expect of a central midfielder.
Unfortunately, it looks as though he could become that player on Juventus’ books if Liverpool can’t persuade him to sign a new contract.
