Emre Can is adamant that he is focused on winning silverware with Liverpool as his contract saga rumbles on with Juventus waiting in the wings to sign him on a free transfer.
With five and a half months remaining of his contract with Liverpool, Emre Can is the subject of many news articles, speculating about what his future holds with the likeliest outcome being that he runs his deal down until June and joins Juventus for free.
The least likely and the most appealing is that he signs a contract extension and commits his future to Liverpool for another five years and gets the release clause he is so desperate to get from the club.
But as things as things are currently, the German midfielder is insistent that he remains focused on winning with Liverpool until his future is sorted out.
“First of all there are still many games with Liverpool to concentrate on, but I hope to be able to stay healthy and go to the World Cup in the summer,” Can said.
“We have been in a good way and we want to try to continue winning as many games as possible and hopefully that can mean having a good run in the FA Cup as well as the Premier League and the Champions League.
“We want to win a trophy. We are full of belief that winning a title is something this squad is capable of achieving and we will give our best.”
Can will turn 24 on Friday and has a bright future ahead of him. He signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and has developed well since then but his future progression may very well not occur at Liverpool Football Club.
