Jürgen Klopp has provided an injury update on key duo Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana with the news hugely positive for Liverpool.

With an international break looming up ahead, most fans would be discouraged but with the latest update from Klopp, many supporters will be buzzing to see club football suspended.

Once Liverpool’s players head off for international duty, Sadio Mané and Adam Lallana will make a return to full training and will look to convince Klopp of their fitness and fight for a place in the German manager’s side.

Speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s Group E clash in the Champions League with NK Maribor, Klopp delivered a very positive update on two of his best players.

Klopp told his pre-match press conference, “Yes, it looks good – both are looking good. Sadio this morning had kind of a clearing session before he comes back to training. We have to see how he will react. The session was good, I heard.

“Of course, he will not be in the squad, tomorrow he has more of a down day when he is recovering from today and then Thursday he should be in training, whatever that means. We will have to see then.

“Adam will be part of team training during the international break and then we need to see. But that means both of them are obviously on a good way but their way is not good enough to involve them tomorrow or at the weekend against West Ham.”

Although it could be a few weeks before both players are back in action for Liverpool, having either player back in the side is a massive boost to a side that has been struggling this season.

Lallana’s return especially will present to Klopp a selection headache even if the gaffer welcomes it with open arms. With midfield positions hard to come by in Liverpool’s team, Lallana will have to graft to fight his way back into the side but the competition will be great for the level of intensity to the Reds’ play.
