Reports in Germany tonight suggest that RB Leipzig are looking for a replacement for Naby Keïta with Liverpool pursuing the 22-year-old.

There have been contradictory reports in recent days concerning Liverpool’s interest in Keïta but regardless of what the media is saying, it’s clear that Jürgen Klopp is desperate to sign the Guinean midfielder.

Yesterday, Keïta was involved in a training ground scuffle with teammate Diego Demme with both players leaving their studs on each other, with the latter coming off the worse for wear.

Tonight, Sportbild report that RB Leipzig are looking for a player to replace Keïta with the player clearly wanting out. The German publication indicates that the player often lacks motivation in training and is isolated from teammates.

Sporting director Ralf Rangnick, a Leipzig figure that has vehemently opposed Keïta leaving the club for the last few months, is reported as looking for alternatives to their dynamic midfielder.

Liverpool will do well to secure Keïta’s signature this summer with the odds firmly against the Reds. In recent days, several news outlets have reported different things on this transfer saga.

One minute, Liverpool have submitted a third and final bid for Keïta, the next minute no such bid has been launched. Then, the following day brings news that Liverpool will drop their interest in the player until next season.

For now, with so many contradictory reports on Keïta, it’s wise to ensure that all reports are taken with a pinch of salt.
