Kevin Stewart has joined Hull City on a permanent transfer as Liverpool sign Andy Robertson from the Tigers.
Liverpool Football Club confirms that Kevin Stewart has completed a permanent transfer away from the Merseyside club as he seeks more regular football.
The 23-year-old was suffering from a lack of game time under Jürgen Klopp and at 23 years of age, the Englishman needs to be playing more regularly to ensure he can continue his development.
The midfielder joined the Reds from Tottenham three years ago and has made just 20 appearances for the first team.
With a wealth of options in central midfield and Naby Keïta being pursued, Stewart didn’t have a future at Liverpool but will have an enjoyable career with Hull City.
It really is a good piece of business from Liverpool, offloading an unneeded player in Stewart in order to sign someone like Andy Robertson who adds more to the side in a position with a real lack of depth.
It also means that, with Stewart leaving for around £8m and Robertson signing for £10m, the club ensures that very little had to be spent.
We wish you all the best Kevin and hope to see you back in the Premier League with Hull in 2018. You’ll Never Walk Alone.
