Mohamed Salah has been granted a work permit after spending 24 hours in Paris before re-entering the U.K and will be eligible to play for Liverpool on Friday against Wigan Athletic.

According to Liverpool’s official website, “The Egypt international, who joined the Reds from AS Roma in June, returned to Merseyside this morning having spent Wednesday attending a meeting at the British Embassy in Paris.”

Salah had to leave the United Kingdom in keeping with standard immigration procedure and went to Paris while his teammates knocked Tranmere Rovers for four.

Yesterday, James Pearce reported that Salah would be available to Klopp for selection by Friday and Liverpool’s official announcement confirms that.

Salah is available to Klopp with immediate effect which means he can take part in pre-season friendlies now.

Liverpool travel to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic and supporters cannot be more excited to see Mohamed Salah take to the pitch in a red kit.

The Egyptian scored 19 goals and set up a further 12 for teammates last season for Roma and the belief is that he will be able to reach similar levels for Liverpool in both the Premier League and the Champions League next season.

While it’s unknown in what capacity Klopp will deploy his new winger, it’s certain that Salah’s arrival will bring increased levels of fluidity regardless of which flanks the Egyptian starts on.

Sadio Mané will miss the Wigan game and the Asia leg of Liverpool’s tour but the Senegal attacker will be a superb partner for Salah with their pace and guile likely to prove complimentary.
