According to Guinean reporter Amadou Makadji, Liverpool are set to submit a bid for priority target Naby Keïta after Jürgen Klopp spoke personally with the midfielder.
Mohamed Salah’s £36.9 million transfer to Liverpool was wrapped up two weeks ago but Jürgen Klopp’s summer business is only just getting started.
Reports that Naby Keïta is high up Liverpool’s transfer list have intensified in recent days, with German football expert Lee Price going so far as to say that it’s a case of when not if the Guinean will sign for the Anfield outfit.
Today, Guinean journalist Amadou Makadji tweeted that Klopp has spoken with Keïta and that Liverpool will submit a bid this evening. Adding on to that, the Foot224 journo said that Klopp is willing to pay whatever it costs to sign his man.

Keïta is a hugely talented midfielder who would be brilliant under Jürgen Klopp. It would come as no surprise if the German manager would do everything he could to sign the exciting Leipzig midfielder.
The Guinean is superb in transition with his pace and vision aiding Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side in switching from defence to attack in record times.
While Amadou Makadji’s claims should be taken with a pinch of salt, it’s worth noting that the Egyptian media was always a step ahead of the British press on the Mohamed Salah deal.
While that is not entirely indicative of this source’s reliability, it’s enough for me to not rule it out entirely just yet.
With ambitions of Champions League and Premier League success next season, it’s clear why Klopp is targeting the likes of Keïta and Salah. The pair are borderline world class and would both take the Reds to the next level.
Adding a defender like Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and an actual left back could see Liverpool considered as genuine title contenders for the 2017/18 season.
