Emre Can is relishing Mohamed Salah’s arrival on Merseyside and cannot wait to play with the Egyptian winger next season.
Liverpool completed the transfer of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma for £37m plus add-ons, making the Egyptian the club’s most expensive player ever.
The announcement that Liverpool had signed Salah finally concluded what had been a lengthy negotiation process and confirms that Jürgen Klopp will have one of the most talented wingers in Europe in his side next season.
And with James Milner and countless supporters having already voiced their excitement at Salah’s signing, Emre Can joins them in praising the new signing.
The German is currently on international duty in Russia, taking part in the Confederations Cup before he will head off on holiday.
Yet, despite the fact that he won’t be part of the Anfield setup until late July, Can cannot wait to link up with Salah and is excited that Liverpool have secured his signature.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Can said, “I am really looking forward to it because he’s a really good player.
“Yesterday or the day before I saw the stats for him from last year in Italy. I think he will be a very good player for Liverpool.”
With Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino last season proving that they can hold their own in the Premier League as one of the best attack forces, Salah’s arrival will only serve to improve that.
Salah scored 19 goals and created a further 15 in all competitions last season for Roma. While that level of output is likely to diminish at least slightly next season in England, anything close to that kind of attacking output will see his £37m price tag seen as a bargain.
Similarly to Mané, supporters will need to judge Salah for his performances alone and forget his price tag as the Egyptian is a top player and will certainly be a big hit on Merseyside.
