Jürgen Klopp speaks to the media after a very frustrating loss to Swansea City at Anfield in the Premier League.

Liverpool are without victory in the Premier League in 2017, with their last league win coming on New Year’s Eve against Manchester City.

Considering that the Reds have managed to go without defeat against the ‘top six’ sides in the league, it’s very frustrating and confusing to see the team slump to defeats against the likes of Burnley and Bournemouth and now Swansea City.

Roberto Firmino seemed to have saved the team from an embarrassing afternoon with two well-taken goals before Gylfi Sigurdsson was gifted a golden opportunity after the most awful defending that Anfield is likely to see for several years.

Liverpool’s season has taken on a dramatically different narrative in the last three weeks. Champions league qualification is now in danger after it seemed as though Liverpool were definite title challengers.

On Wednesday, Southampton make the trip up to Merseyside for the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final which they head into with a 1-0 lead. It’s imperative that Liverpool make the most of what many write off as a “nothing trophy” and use the momentum from winning it to finish the season well.
