According to German outlet Bild, via the Liverpool Echo, Jürgen Kloppis eyeing four players from the Bundesliga.
Liverpool slumped to a 1-0 defeat on the South Coast last night in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton. There was absolutely no creativity or spark to Liverpool’s play and it would seem as though more questions were asked than answered on a very frustrating night.
Without a win in 2017 in three attempts, Jürgen Klopp is looking to reinforce his side in an attempt to sustain a title bid.
It has been well-publicised that Klopp admires Christian Pulisic, Mo Dahoud and Julian Brandt but a new name has been brought to the fore: Jonathan Tah.
However, the 20-year-old rejected the notion of leaving the club, saying, “I am very happy at Bayer Leverkusen.”
Tah told German sports daily Bild, “ I don’t want to leave .”
Liverpool are in a tough situation at the moment. With form hard to come by in the absence of Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, Klopp needs to find a way to inspire his side to victory against the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea this month to keep the Reds’ title hopes alive.
A trip to Old Trafford on Sunday beckons and a lot rides on the clash against Manchester Untied as defeat could send Liverpool tumbling from the top four and leave United just two points above the Merseyside club. January is always a terrible month.
That being said, should Liverpool return to winning ways, it could spark a title challenge of note and keep the pressure on Chelsea to the point that a meeting at Anfield at the end of the month will hold a lot of importance.
