Pedro Chirivella has joined Go Ahead Eagles on loan in a bid to develop as a first team player as he isn’t receiving first team game time at Liverpool.
The Spaniard hasn’t played for Liverpool’s first team this season and has completed a short-term loan deal to Dutch Club Go Ahead Eagles. According to the Daily Star, Chirivella will return to Liverpool at the end of the season.
Since switching Valencia for Liverpool in 2013, the 19-year-old has made five first-team appearances and will look to use a challenging loan spell in Holland to prove his worth to Jürgen Klopp. He has his work cut out for him as Go Ahead Eagles are rock bottom in the Eredivisie and are struggling to find form.
While having your club at the bottom of the league is usually quite depressing, Go Ahead Eagles boss Dennis Bekking is overjoyed at having signed Chirivella.

“We are very pleased a player with his qualities to add to our selection,” Bekking said.
“I’ve seen him play myself in Liverpool and was impressed with his footballing qualities.
“He can hold the ball, do well without possession and in possession has great insight and an intelligence game.
“Not for nothing Liverpool, last year extended his contract until 2020.”
Despite something of a lull in his promising career, Chirivella is valued very highly by the staff at both the Liverpool Academy and at Melwood. Liverpool’s decision to extend his contract was done in good faith as great things are expected of the former Valencia midfielder.
