Christian Pulisic has opened the door to a move to Liverpool with comments about playing football in England.
Liverpool were very interested in signing Pulisic in the summer but Borussia Dortmund made it very clear that they would not be selling the young American star. The Liverpool Echo reported back in September that Liverpool would make future bids for Pulisic and with the player fostering a love for the English game, this could prove fruitful.
Pulisic spent a year in England as a seven-year-old and while I would usually say that doesn’t mean much, the player says that it has lead to where he is today.
“It’s a big reason [for] where I am today,” he told Mail Online. “A lot of people don’t realise but it really brought on my passion for the game. After school every day, I was just out for hours in the park, playing with my schoolmates.
“That’s really where my love for the game started to come alive and that was a big part of my development.”
With Jurgen Klopp a big fan of Pulisic and the Dortmund player having roots in England, it could open up a future move for the player. When Liverpool enquired about him in the summer, the sticking point was that Dortmund weren’t ready to lose him and it’s more a case of when not if with this one.
