Jurgen Klopp has responded in typical fashion to suggestions that Nathaniel Clyne and Philippe Coutinho have been targeted by Barcelona.

Philippe Coutinho has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers so far this season and has four goals and four assists to his name, prompting many to suggest that he is the best player on form in the league at the moment.

Nathaniel Clyne, A.K.A Mr. Reliable, has consistently delivered defensive displays of the highest order since signing for Liverpool last season and also contributes hugely to Jurgen Klopp’s side in attack, with his runs down the right flank offering width when Sadio Mane moves centrally.

Recent rumours have indicated that Barcelona are interested in signing both Clyne and Coutinho, and Klopp, in his unique way, has dismissed the suggestions entirely.

“What can I say? It’s better that they talk about Real Madrid and Barcelona,” he said, according to The Metro.

“How many matches have we played? Nine, ten? ****ing hell, nine matches and we talk about all this stuff.

“Do they want to get them in winter or the next window? Do they think they can buy Clyney in winter? Come on. It’s nice but not important.”

It’s pleasing to hear Klopp come out and put rumours to bed as it reassures fans and emphasises how important certain players are to the club and Coutinho and ‘Clyney’ would be the most difficult players to replace at Liverpool.
