The best photos of Liverpool's win at Selhurst Park

Liverpool extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 games with a hard-fought victory over Crystal Palace yesterday evening.

In a first half, characterised by Liverpool allowing their lead to slip time after time, Jurgen Klopp’s men showed many of the same defensive frailties that have plagued the Reds for several years. An inability to defend crosses was revealed yet again as James McArthur grabbed a brace of headered goals before the interval.

Joel Matip’s thumped header just before the end of the first half proved to be the winner, but it was Roberto Firmino who effectively ended Palace’s onslaught with a beautifully chipped ball over Steve Mandanda.

Even though Liverpool showed their flaws yesterday, Klopp was visibly pleased with his team after the game and it’s clear that he appreciates the fight that his side put up against a Palace side capable of taking on the ‘big boys.’
