According to the Liverpool Echo, Georginio Wijnaldum will be fit to play against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

It was to the chagrin of many a Liverpool supporter that new signing Gini Wijnaldum picked up an injury on international duty and subsequently missed the Premier League clash with Manchester United at Anfield on Monday night.

Speaking to the media ahead of a trip to the Hawthorns to face West Brom, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Wijnaldum is in with a chance to face the Baggies.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp said, “Actually in this moment there’s nothing really to moan about. We had a few kicks and things like this in the game (Man United) and still felt after the game but no-one is ruled out at the moment.

“Gini (Wijnaldum) is on the way back, that’s good and if nothing happens today or tomorrow we’ve got quite a big squad to choose from.

On Lallana, Klopp continued, “It was a very intensive game against Manchester United and coming in with fresh legs is not the worst thing.

He’s a very good footballer, very important for us. In my opinion, his development is not that big because I didn’t watch the games before I came. But since I’m here he’s on a constant high level.”

With Lallana and Wijnaldum both set to return to face West Brom, there should be a better performance displayed compared to what was seen against Manchester United. While Emre Can is a good midfielder, Wijnaldum has proven in the first seven league games of the season that he is the perfect mix of composure and rigour to compliment Liverpool’s fluid attack.

The game against West Brom will offer the perfect opportunity to keep the pressure on Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs and will also present the chance to go further ahead of Chelsea. The London club faces Manchester United in what is being tipped as a ‘Super Sunday’ fixture. We’ll see about that.
