Ex-Red Daniel Agger believes that Liverpool can continue their winning ways this season under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool has stunned most onlookers this season with a series of highly impressive performances in the Premier League. Monumental victories over Arsenal, Leicester and Hull have made people realise the potential within the Liverpool camp this season.
A 0-0 draw with Manchester United was the first game in five that Jurgen Klopp’s side didn’t win. This winning streak has seen the Merseyside club shoot into the Champions League places and within touching distance of top spot – just two points separate first-placed Manchester City and Liverpool in fourth.
Daniel Agger, one of Reds’ supporters favourite ex-players, is optimistic for the season ahead and believes there is a lot to be excited about.
“It’s going well so far. To be honest, I have some expectations this year, especially after last year,” the Dane told Liverpoolfc.com.

“Jürgen is looking good for the club, I think he’s doing well. He has some great ideas and the way he talks with the media, everything, I like.”
When Liverpool finished second in the league three years ago, Agger was a part of the squad and he understands the importance of having a quality attack when your defence isn’t as assured.
“It means you can let a few in and still win the game – that’s some confidence to have in a team,” he continued.
“As a defender, it’s not always the best because when you attack a lot, you obviously let more goals in. But it’s easier when you can score two, three, four or five sometimes. It’s easier to let one or two in.”
At the age of 31, Agger retired and has admitted to missing the excitement of playing – especially with a clash like Manchester United!
“It’s difficult and it’ll always be difficult. Even though I’ve just finished my career, I miss it, I really, really miss it,” the ex-Denmark captain added.
“But at the same time, I know it’s the right decision. I can come here with a good feeling, a smile on my lips, and enjoy it – that’s the most important thing for me. I can enjoy it but miss it at the same time.”
