According to Don Balon, Liverpool is interested in signing Inaki Williams from  Athletic Bilbao.

It’s fair to say that Liverpool has a wealth of attacking options, but that’s not going to stop rumours speculating that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bolstering his ranks.

Football Fancast reports that Don Balon has linked Liverpool with the signing of Inaki Williams from Athletic Bilbao. The Spaniard has only been capped once before but has impressed in the last couple seasons in La Liga.

The winger scored 8 goals last season and offers serious pace – much like what Sadio Mane has brought to the Liverpool team after his £36 million move from Southampton in the Summer.

The thing is, do Liverpool need him and where would he actually fit in? When the squad is fully fit, Coutinho usually takes up the left wing and Mane the right. The Spaniard would have to accept a squad role and work towards breaking into the team.

The thing that would play to his advantage is that, aside from Mane, Liverpool is very limited as far as natural pace in attacking areas is concerned. In the event of injury, Williams could find himself in the squad but transferring to Liverpool in the hope someone suffers an injury is not ideal.

Jurgen Klopp is not one to sign a player merely because he can. I don’t see this deal happening and that is hardly a bad thing as the Reds have such strength in depth that there isn’t really any need to sign Williams.
