Web Calcio reports that Liverpool could take Geoffrey Kondogbia on loan in January for the remainder of the season.
You may have thought that transfer rumours end the moment the transfer window shuts. You were wrong. There may have been a lull in the whisperings of future deals, but in modern football, transfer negotiation is perpetual.
According to Web Calcio, Geoffrey Kondogbia is on Liverpool’s radar. The French midfielder would come with very high wages but apparently that won’t be an issue.
Liverpool has begun the season superbly, taking 16 points from 7 games. A massive part of this stunning start to the season has been how good the midfield three of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Gini Wijnaldum has performed.
It’s difficult to imagine, with Emre Can and Marko Grujic sitting on the bench already, that Kondogbia would find much game time with the Reds.

He joined Inter Milan in 2015 but hasn’t lived up to the expectations that people had for him. His £31 million fee did little to help the matter. Liverpool could sign Kondogbia on loan in January but there will be little appeal to have a player for 6 months when he doesn’t really improve the team.
I am fairly sure that this is just a rumour and nothing more. I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be wrong again, but not about this.
