Liverpool takes on Burton Albion in the third round of the EFL Cup tomorrow evening and Jurgen Klopp was on hand to discuss the game with a room full of journalists.

Last season, Klopp used domestic cup tournaments as a way to rotate his side with Europa League football to contend with as well. This season, however, he seems to be fielding his strongest possible side and is treating the FA Cup and the EFL Cup as seriously as he would a Premier League fixture.

After missing the game against Chelsea on Friday due to a slight groin injury, Roberto Firmino has returned to training. Mamadou Sakho is working his way towards match fitness and still has to reach the level of fitness that Klopp requires from his players.

Even though Firmino leads the pressing from the front and grabbed two goals against Leicester last week, he wasn’t missed all that much. Such is Liverpool’s depth in attack that Coutinho slotted back into the team in his stead.
