Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media in his typically charismatic manner after beating Chelsea 2-1.
I think it’s fair to say that Liverpool has come on in leaps and bounds in recent weeks. When Burnley emerged as victors in the contest at Turf Moor, the atmosphere surrounding the club was grim.
Last night’s victory over Chelsea just emphasised how much the team has progressed. A combination of Klopp’s tactics being taken in and applied as well as the new signings settling in has made for a slow, but steady start to the season.
Taking 10 points from an available 15 is not horrific considering Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea have been four of the first five fixtures.
In the last three games, against Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea, there has been a marked improvement in defence. This, despite a need for rotation in defence. In the first two games of the Premier League season, Liverpool conceded 5 goals. Turn to the next three and only three have been given away to opposition who you could argue are of a high calibre; Arsenal was very poor despite scoring three on opening day.
As Klopp mentioned in his press conference, Liverpool responded very well to conceding to Chelsea. Joel Matip was very poor in making such an early challenge but he more than made up for it for the last half an hour.
Anyway, watch how, as per the norm, Klopp keeps the media on strings in his post-match press conference:
