Jurgen Klopp was in high spirits as he gave a press conference ahead of Friday’s Premier League showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

It is always entertaining to watch Klopp discuss Liverpool and the upcoming fixture, but today he was in an exceptionally good mood as he discussed Chelsea, Diego Costa, David Luiz and how he feels confident about Liverpool’s chances against the Blues.

When asked about how he rates Diego Costa, Klopp replied saying, “world class.” The Spaniard was prolific in his first season in England but, like many of his teammates, he was off form last season. Costa was in the papers more because of his controversial behaviour on the pitch than for his goalscoring which speaks volumes on its own.

Liverpool will need to keep an eye on the former Atletico Madrid forward if they are to keep the hosts quiet.

Chelsea is to be without John Terry for the clash but will be boosted by the re-signing of David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain. Klopp will no doubt send his players out with the intention to pressurise the Brazilian high up the pitch. Gary Cahill and Luiz will need to gel pretty quickly if they are to contain the likes of Firmino, Coutinho and Mane.

Klopp made a comment about Luiz being “inexperienced”, but given he was grinning cheekily it’s likely he was joking about. That being said, Luiz is prone to making inconvenient errors so this will be something Liverpool will look to target.

Anyway, Klopp is waiting, watch the full press conference now…
