Jürgen Klopp has named his full squad for the 2016/17 Premier League season, and it includes Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori.
Liverpool has submitted its 22-man squad for the Premier League season and it includes Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori, according to the official Premier League website.
The summer transfer window saw 22 players leave the club, but Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori failed engineeer suitable moves away from the club. The former turned down several loan moves to Premier League clubs and the latter didn’t attract any interest from clubs to take him away from Merseyside permanently.
Klopp has included both Sakho and Ilori in his Premier League squad for the 2016/17 squad but does it necessarily indicate anything significant? Ilori has been included but is unlikely to be involved, so why would Sakho after his behavioural issues. The Frenchman is set to be frozen out, according to the Mirror, while the Portuguese defender is set to play for the under-23s.
Divock Origi, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez aren’t named in the 22-man side as they are aged 21 or under – the same goes for the likes of Cameron Brannagan, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ovie Ejaria, Pedro Chirivella and Connor Randall.
