Liverpool lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town in a behind-closed-doors friendly today at Melwood.

Several of Liverpool’s stars are on international duty but Jurgen Klopp is not resting on his laurels. Judging from training photos, the remaining Reds’ players are being put through their paces. Klopp likes to use international breaks as conditioning for his squad and organised a game for his players to get some match sharpness.

Adding to this, Liverpool played against Huddersfield Town at Melwood today. According to Liverpoolfc.com, Ovie Ejaria netted as the hosts went down 2-1 after two late goals from the visiting side.

Klopp fielded a team consisting of the likes of Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Lucas Leiva, James Milner and Joel Matip as the Reds look to prepare for their clash with Leicester City at Anfield next weekend.

Liverpoolf.com’s David Lynch reports that Roberto Firmino looked particularly bright in the opening exchanges sending a shot over the bar and having another blocked inside the box.

The breakthrough came with 55 minutes gone as Ejaria headed in Firmino’s chipped ball. The Reds conceded two late goals as Huddersfield rallied and score two goals within a minute of each other.
