Liverpool has several key players out on international duty, but training continues without them as Jurgen Klopp puts the remaining Liverpool players through their paces at Melwood.

The lads trained at Melwood today ahead of next Saturday’s game against Leicester City at Anfield. It will be the first game this season at the ground since the Main Stand was redeveloped.

I thought Joel Matip’s display against Spurs on the weekend was highly impressive. His aerial ability and strength almost earned him a goal on his debut, and if these photos are anything to go by his performance at White Hart Lane it wasn’t a once off. He looks a beast, and a bargain too!

Lucas Leiva has been injured for some time but it’s great to see him training and moving about. His presence at the club, despite being a natural midfielder, poses a threat to the amount of game time that Mamadou Sakho will get this season.
