Mario Balotelli spent his Tuesday afternoon on the south coast of France in an attempt to negotiate a deal with Nice, and Liverpool is still keen to loan out Mamadou Sakho.
According to Sky Sports’ sources, Mario Balotelli is close to completing a permanent move to Ligue 1 club Nice.
Yesterday, the indication from Goal was that the Italian would leave Liverpool today on a season-long loan which would effectively see him out of his last year on his contract with the Reds.
Sky is reporting that the move will be a permanent move, and frankly, Sky is a much more reliable source than Goal is.
Balotelli has endured a nightmarish campaign with Liverpool, despite not featuring for the club since April 2015. The former AC Milan striker cost the Merseyside club £16 million in what Brendan Rodgers admitted was a “gamble.”
Elsewhere, Mamadou Sakho has still not decided where he wants to go, and with the clock ticking, he will need to make his mind up very soon.
In Sky’s report, it’s made clear that Liverpool maintain their stance on wanting to loan out the defender. Having rejected advances loan offers from West Brom and Stoke City, but will need to make something happen or run the risk of not playing for the next year.
