According to the Express’ Paul Joyce, Mamadou Sakho has turned down a loan move to Besiktas.
Yes, he’s rejected another loan move away from Liverpool. This time, the offer has come in from Turkish club Besiktas.
Despite being told that he needs to leave the club in order to find game time, Sakho has turned down a number of loan moves.
Last season, Sakho was suspended by UEFA after failing a random drugs test and, despite being cleared of all charges, he has not continued in a manner which would indicate perfect behaviour. Upon returning to Liverpool for the club’s pre-season tour, he failed to follow club rules on three separate occasions. He was then sent home to recuperate at Melwood which, retrospectively, was a disciplinary measure.
Sakho has been made available for loan but is, seemingly, unwilling to leave Liverpool.
Although Sakho will be aware that he will receive minimal to no first-team game time, he has rejected every opportunity to leave the club. With the latest offer coming from Besiktas.
