Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere has hinted that Mario Balotelli would be welcome at the Ligue 1 club.

During a post-match press conference the president said, “Do you have Balotelli’s number? Call him and tell him we need a striker in Nice.”

While it is quite an unconventional way to reveal possible transfer plans, I am sure that most Liverpool fans would be buzzing to hear that a club has finally been found for the Italian.

The former Manchester City forward has been informed that he needs to find a new club this summer as there is no room for him in Jürgen Klopp’s plans. Balotelli’s controversial nature could have a disastrous effect on the Liverpool squad if he was allowed to stay at the club for the 2016/17 season.

As it is, Daniel Sturridge is being marginalised due to the fact that he doesn’t press the way Klopp wants. Roberto Firmino, in his stylish but hardworking manner, has taken over as the side’s number 9 in Sturridge’s absence, and it looks as if the Englishman has his work cut out for him.
