Borussia Dortmund is unwilling to sell Christian Pulisic this summer. Therefore, if the Reds are serious about signing him then a deal can only be struck next summer.

Liverpool made an £11 million offer for Pulisic which has been rejected without the intention of renegotiation. Liverpool will need to wait until next season’s summer transfer window to sign the Pennsylvanian youngster, according to the Liverpool EchoBorussia Dortmund is unwilling to sell the 17-year old this month with the intention to keep him in Germany.

Jürgen Klopp has a very high opinion of the youngster; Pulisic joined Dortmund’s academy in 2015 while Klopp was the club’s manager and was later promoted to train with the first team before Klopp left the German outfit. The American made his first-team breakthrough under Thomas Tuchel and made 12 senior appearances, even appearing against Liverpool in the Europa League in the first leg.

Pulisic is yet another player who would be signed as a player for the future and not one who would come into the side and make an impact right away. This approach has frustrated some fans with rivals splurging on top talent. Klopp was signed, however, for his ability to sign young or unknown players and transform them into world-class talent.

Klopp will be monitoring Pulisic’s progress and could sign him next season if Dortmund changes their stance on the matter.
