Liverpool aren’t interested in signing Manchester City’s Joe Hart, despite reports in recent days.

What would we do without the Liverpool Echo, eh? The last three months has been a period of uncertainty where James Pearce and co. have constantly cleared up rumours surrounding the club. The latest rumour to be rubbished is that Liverpool were keen on signing Joe Hart with James Pearce stepping in to pop that particular balloon.

I mean, it just makes no sense when you think about it. We have three senior keepers at the club – and only one who is injured. It would be silly to sign a new keeper when Danny Ward is on loan, Loris Karius is returning from injury soon and Alex Manninger has been signed as cover from FC Augsburg.

The original source of the rumour is unmentionable but if you really want to read the original report linking Hart with a move to Merseyside then you’re welcome to click here.

The speculation was that Joe Hart was prepared to take a wage-cut from his current £150,000-a-week income to join Liverpool, but the Echo’s James Pearce has dismissed the claims due to the presence of capable keepers at Liverpool. It is a shame that Klopp isn’t interested in Hart though. “If I were Liverpool, I’d be all over Joe Hart,” Lawrenson told BBC 5 Live.“He’s better than their three goalkeepers put together.”
