Liverpool’s supposed interest and pursuit of James Rodriguez has been bolstered with reports indicating that Juventus have ruled themselves out of the race to sign the Colombian.

Yesterday, strange links with Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez emerged and you have to put it down to the craziness of the last few days of the transfer window.

However, according to the Express, Juventus have ruled themselves out of a move for the Colombian with Juve’s chief executive Guiseppe Marotta saying, “James? There’s almost no chance.”

He’s definitely made a mistake by saying, ‘almost no chance.’ There’s certain to be a newspaper or two who twist that to making it sound as if there is a possibility that the Serie A giants are interested.

Liverpool’s chances of signing James are supposedly ‘bolstered’ by Juventus pulling out but there is still the small matter of the likely €80 million fee and Rodriguez being unwilling to move from sunny Madrid to dreary Liverpool. We’ve heard this story before with Alexis Sanchez.
