It would seem as though Philippe Coutinho’s hamstring issues are still hampering him and he is a doubt to face Tottenham tomorrow.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Coutinho sat out the Reds’ EFL Cup victory over Burton Albion in midweek due to ‘tightness’ in his hamstring. The Brazilian attacker complained of the discomfort after Liverpool’s 2-0 loss to Burnley of which Coutinho played the full 90 minutes.
Jürgen Klopp has admitted he could miss out on Liverpool’s midday kickoff against Tottenham tomorrow.
“The muscle was a little stiff,” Klopp said. “He felt something so we didn’t want to take a risk (against Burton).
“We left him out of training until now. We have to make a decision on Friday with what we can do with him.
“It is not a situation to take any risk. We have to talk to the player. From the medical side, it is not a big issue, but it was big enough to leave him out of the squad for Burton.”
He would be a huge miss as he is the instigator for all things creative for the Merseyside outfit, but with new signing Sadio Mane in extremely good form, there will be no doubt that the baton can be passed on to someone else.
