Stoke City are keen to sign Mamadou Sakho after it emerged that Jürgen Klopp is looking to send him out on loan in order to gain regular game time.
It was revealed this week that Klopp is happy to send Mamadou Sakho, who is arguably the club’s best defender, out on loan to play regularly with the Frenchman just returning from an Achilles Tendon injury which saw him miss Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the US.
Sakho was initially travelling with his teammates in America before he was sent home for repeatedly failing to obey the rules laid out by the club.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Stoke City are interested in a loan move for Sakho for the 2016/17 season. Mark Hughes seems to fancy Liverpool’s players after already sealing a permanent move for Joe Allen this summer.
“Everybody who needs to be informed about this has been informed about this,” Klopp said in the aftermath of Tuesday’s 5-0 hiding of Burton in the EFL Cup.
“There are no secrets with the important people, I would say.”
Stoke City conceded four goals to Manchester City on the weekend and Mark Hughes is looking to bolster his defence. Sakho is a good way to go as he is a committed and die hard player who will also bring composure to a team who have become more used to retaining possession than in years gone by.
