Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho were interviewed by Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 3-4 Premier League classic against Arsenal.
Philippe Coutinho was awarded the Man of the Match award, not just for his two goals but also for the way he influenced the tempo of the game. The Brazilian has started his fourth season with the Reds and he got off to a blistering start. His free kick which drew Liverpool level was truly world class.
He then began the second half the way he left the pitch after the first 45 minutes. While he may not have left Hector Bellerin dazed in the way he did last season at the Emirates, Coutinho’s performance was every bit as magical as has become expected of the club’s number 10. Many fans were concerned about the Brazilian when he left the pitch limping but Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that it was just cramp.
While Lallana doesn’t have the same bewitching ball control of Coutinho or the mercurial pace that Mané possesses, the Englishman is highly efficient attacker especially under Klopp. He added Liverpool’s second goal of the game and the lead. His chest control and finish past Petr Cech sent Liverpool into rapture having effectively turned the game around.
