Liverpool’s unwanted striker, Christian Benteke is being chased by a number of clubs and the latest to be added to the list is West Brom, according to Sky Sports.

There is no place in Jürgen Klopp’s pacy, counter attacking team for Benteke, that much is clear, but what is yet to be determined is where the Belgian where go next.

Liverpool signed the forward last summer for a reported fee of £32.5 million and it was clear, apparently not to Brendan Rodgers, that Benteke wasn’t going to suit the way the side played. Almost a year later and it looks like he is set for another big money move to a Premier League team.

Crystal Palace have been trying to sign Benteke but to no avail after a £25 million bid was rejected last month. it was reported a few days ago that the Londoners were set to up the ante with an improved bid closer to Liverpool’s £30 million reckoning.

I for one can’t understand why Liverpool are haggling over what are pennies in today’s market. A club is willing to offer close to what we paid to sign the player and yet it’s likely the Reds will hold out until their demands are met. This sort of arrogance and naivety has seen the club miss out on stars like Alex Teixeira.

West Brom are reportedly interested in signing Benteke and it’s no surprise why; the big man would fit right in with the Baggies and their direct style of play.
