Sadio Mané signed for Liverpool in a deal that could break the club’s record transfer record fee. The former-Southampton man linked up with a former Saints player against Barcelona on the weekend in Adam Lallana and the Englishman has kind words for Mané.
The Senegal international scored his first Liverpool goal, after having one disallowed against Huddersfield Town, against Barcelona and was arguably the Reds’ brightest player on the pitch with pace and movement a constant outlet for his creative teammates.
“I knew straight away what he was about,” Lallana said after the game. “I knew what he was going to bring to the team, regardless of what everyone has seen in pre-season.
“You saw all those different parts against Barcelona but I saw them all in his first couple of sessions with us.
“We have seen it from working with him what he can do. I was never worried about him settling. He could have had a goal against AC Milan but it didn’t matter.

“I could see what he was going to bring to this team. He is different to what we have got. He is unpredictable.”
Liverpool kick-start their Premier League campaign on Sunday against Arsenal at the Emirates and despite a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Mainz the Reds will be confident of taking the full three points after a positive pre-season.
