Last night Liverpool succumbed to AS Roma in the final friendly of the Reds tour in the US and the game was not without its issues.

Alberto Moreno limped off the pitch in apparent pain and it seemed that the prayers of almost the entire fan-base had been answered. It appeared as though the left-back had picked up a hamstring injury and that Jürgen Klopp would finally be forced to buy a new left-sided fullback.

Alas, it was not meant to be as it turns out that Moreno won’t miss a significant amount of football through injury.

“Alberto has a dead leg in his hamstring – that’s all it is,” Klopp told the Echo.

The former Sevilla defender is the only remaining natural left back in the squad and it may be that James Milner could spend next season making appearances as a utility left back after Klopp has played the England international at fullback twice in the States this pre-season.

Admittedly, this is far from ideal and cries for a new left-back seem to be fall on deaf ears. With Milner playing the first half of against Roma at fullback it seems as though Klopp is trying all he can to avoid dipping back into the transfer market. Ragnar Klavan is said to be capable at left-back but given Liverpool’s current centre-back in jury crisis it is unlikely that the Estonian defender will appear there any time soon.

In the words of Jamie Carragher: “Jürgen, transfer committee, anyone sign a f***ing left back.”

Lucas Leiva has been on the verge of a move to Galatasaray for what has seemed like an eternity. The Turkish club have made contact according to This is Anfield. If I had my way I would grant him his form before his anterior cruciate ligament injury back in 2011 after a collision with Juan Mata.

Last night the Brazilian may have rounded off his Liverpool career with an endearing gesture. While unintentional he gained a lot of praise from Liverpool fans residing on Twitter for his anger at a brash challenge from a player from AS Roma last night. He threw a water bottle onto the pitch out of anger and was subsequently sent from the bench by Klopp.

According to a fan attending the game, Lucas did not leave quietly making a fuss over leaving moving four places on the bench each time Klopp told him to leave.
