Reports claim a bid has been submitted for Mattia De Sciglio and Lucas Leiva is the subject of continued interest from Galatasaray.

According to an article from the Independent, Liverpool have submitted a £16 million bid for AC Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio.

While Alberto Moreno may not be as seriously injured as many have been praying and hoping for it doesn’t mean that Liverpool still don’t have a dire need for a solid left-back. The Spaniard was at fault for several goals last season with his poor defensive positioning and rash tackling making him a target for opposition attackers.

A bid of £16 million has been sent to AC Milan, according to the Italian sports daily and De Sciglio’s agent, Donato Orgnoni, recently admitted there is interest in his client.

“There are certainly many clubs interested. We’re looking around,” he said. “He’s very much appreciated both in Italy and abroad, we’ve also had contact with Napoli.”

James Milner has played two separate halves of football at left back during pre-season which could be a worrying sign that Klopp intends to play the English midfielder at fullback as a way to avoid spending more money in the transfer market.

Lucas Leiva could be on his way out of Liverpool after being with the club for just short of 10 years and is the club’s longest serving player on the books.

Jürgen Klopp is adverse to allowing Lucas to leave but he can’t offer the Brazilian regular football which a club like Galatasaray are able to. The Daily Mail are reporting that the Turkish outfit are still keen to buy Lucas and the lure of regular football could prove too much to keep him at Liverpool which has been his home for almost a decade.

The gist of it is that Klopp won’t fight Galatasaray but he won’t be assisting in any way either as Lucas is the only senior specialist defensive midfielder at the club.
