Liverpool have sold Brad Smith to Bournemouth for £6 million, according to the club’s official website.

The 22 year old was struggling to find game time at Liverpool after moving progressing through the Reds Academy. The Australian seals a summer move which will see him join Jordon Ibe at Bournemouth after the young Englishman completed a £15 million moved earlier this month.

The departure of Smith sees Liverpool’s left-back dilemma worsen. Alberto Moreno is far from the ideal Premeir League fullback. The Spaniard has a preference for attacking which often finds him too far up the pitch when Liverpool find themselves under pressure at the back. As such it should be a priority to bring in a new fullback into the side.

Jetro Willems seems very keen to come to Liverpool with the Dutchman sharing a photo-shopped image of himself on Snapchat wearing a Liverpool jersey. While this could hold no meaning as it so often does it could just as easily indicate the player’s desire to join up with Georginio Wijnaldum this summer at Anfield.

The fullback’s cryptic message to Wijnaldum when he joins further emphasises this sentiment. Willems tweeted Liverpool’s new midfielder telling him that he’ll seem soon. Take from this what you will.
