Reports tell us that Klopp wants Inter Milan duo Marcelo Brozovic and Gary Medel and that Georginio Wijnaldum wants a £25 million move to Liverpool.
According to AS, Jürgen Klopp is keen on bringing Inter Milan duo Marcelo Brozovic and Gary Medel to Anfield. Inter have made it clear that Medel is available for transfer with the Italian side planning a summer spending spree.
Klopp watched Medel at the Copa America Centenario which Chile won after defeating Argentina in the final. It is being reported that Klopp liked what he saw and is ready to make a move for the South American.
Medel has experience playing in England after spending a season with Cardiff City 2013 before being snapped up by Sevilla for £11 million. Before his move to Spain he made 34 appearances for Cardiff and was highly impressive despite the Blues relegation.
Lanacion reports that talks have already begun between Liverpool and Inter Milan and an announcement regarding Medel’s future could be made in the next few days. It is also claimed that the Reds are prepared to pay up to £12 million to secure the Chilean’s services.
Medel is often referred to as the ‘Pitbull’ for his ferocious defensive-midfield displays. His versatility means that he is capable of playing centre back which means he could solve two of Liverpool’s most pressing issues in one fell swoop.

Liverpool are likely to lose Lucas Leiva before the summer ends which means Klopp will be extremely short-handed in the defensive midfield department. Medel would go a long way to plugging the extremely leaky holes in midfield.
Marcelo Brozovic was Croatia’s outstanding performer at the European Championships and it is unlikely that Inter Milan would be willing to part with such a talented player. That being said, if Klopp really wants a player he’s likely to get him.
The Mirror’s Darren Lewis has said that Georginio Wijnaldum wants a move to Liverpool and that it will land Newcastle a £10 million profit.
Klopp is keen on bringing the Dutchman to Anfield and a deal could be thrashed out this week with a medical to be conducted before the deal is wrapped up. Wijnaldum’s insistence on a move away from Tyneside as a result of Newcastle’s relegation plays into Liverpool’s hands.
According to the Mirror, Tottenham are no longer interested in Wijnaldum which leaves Liverpool with a clear road ahead. It’s a refreshing change of face with Tottenham snaking deals in the past.
